So, you want know how to grow an MLM business. If you're like me, you know that making a list of family and friends doesn't work. So, what does work? I'll share with you a few tips on growing an MLM business.

The first way to grow your business is to learn how to find your target market. If you're in the weight loss niche, your target market could be people that are actively looking to lose weight.

So, what you'll want to do is either generate leads that are looking to lose weight or buy a list of people that have purchased something that's related to weight loss.

The next tip on how to grow an MLM business is to learn how to communicate with your audience. This can be done with the written word and the phone. By learning how to use these two things, you'll be able to grow your downline.

These are just a couple of things you can do that will show you how to grow an MLM business. If you do the two things noted above, you'll be able to grow your downline fast.

Two Critical Questions To Ask Yourself

After talking to quite a few people who wanted to grow their business by 20-30 people a week, which is quite easy to do. I decided I would simply throw out what seems to be holding some people back from this type of growth.

1st Question: How do you treat your business?

Are you really wanting to grow your business, or is it a hobby? The difference is the desire, effort, and amount of time you are willing to invest to get your business to that 6-figure mark.

Do you have some kind of plan, or are you just 'shooting from the hip' or 'winging it'? I'm not talking about throwing home parties, passing out samples, or other non-sense that doesn't work. But an actual plan on how you are planning on growing your business.

This question will reflect how well you do in your business. If you treat this business like a lottery ticket, then you're probably gonna fail. And that's being completely honest.

If you don't know anyone who knows how to build a business from scratch, no problem. Find someone that does know how. Make sure whoever you find, they treat their business like a business.

2nd Question: Are you passionate about your products?

It amazes me how many people jump into a home business and doesn't use the company's product/service. They claim to promote the opportunity. Well, first problem, how can you market products/opportunity for a company if you don't use the products? And second problem, how can you promote an opportunity when you aren't even making any money?

It's being dishonest. Maybe you've done it before. And it's probably because that's what you're being taught. I was taught the same thing. Which makes me cringe at the thought of someone teaching you that.

If you are only in this business for the money, you will probably drop out, simply because the amount of effort and desire it takes to grow your business, will outweigh your desire for the money.

So make sure you are passionate about the products/service before you think about marketing it.

Do yourself a favor...look at yourself and your business. Answer these two question and you will have taken the first step to joining the rank that do succeed in this business.

MLM Failure Tip #2

This one may ruffle your feathers a bit. It's not really mention much in the home business industry. But every 'traditional' business owners know and understand this concept. Well, the MLM Failure tip #2 is not investing in your business.

So what do I mean by investing in your business. Well this means putting money back into your business, which could be for marketing campaigns (leads, conference line, Google adwords, etc), training/education, and other 'not-so-critical' stuff (desk, new computer, new phone, etc).

For many home business owners, they jump in this industry, thinking for some spectacular reason, they can make $100k without really doing much of anything. Well that's complete hogwash. But to be honest, it’s not their fault.

Maybe someone told them it's super easy, you don't have to work it at all, you don't have to spend any money after enrolling. Or they tell you to host parties, pass out samples, make a list, and you'll be making thousands of dollars. Well, I'm sorry to say...it's just not going to happen.

However, by spending money where it needs to be spent, you will grow your business by thousands and thousands of dollars.

The only problem is you have to know where to put the funds.

With this information, go evaluate your business, your activities, and invest in your business. This will without doubt grow your business big time.

MLM Failure Tip #1

I’ve heard this failure tip used numerous times…and not just in MLM and network marketing. I’ve heard it used on TV and in “real business”. I know you’ve heard someone say it before. You know…”My product sells itself”. There’s nothing further from the truth than that statement.

There isn’t one product on earth that sells itself. Not even water, which is the most vital resource known to mankind. You have to be able to market your products effectively and efficiently to people who have a need or want for it.

When I think of this statement, The Apprentice comes to mind. There was one episode when one of the teams had to come up with an effective marketing plan for Mr. Trump’s new tower, or building. I forgot the exact product. Anyway, one of the teams failed to come up with a plan and told Mr. Trump that the tower would sell itself since Mr. Trump is known across the world.

Mr. Trump told the team that there is no product that sells itself, not even products endorsed by him. You have to have an effective plan in place to get your products sold.

Being able to market your products help you communicate effectively to your potential customers. And help explain how the products could benefit them.

Be sure you never use the philosophy that products sell themselves. Because they don’t. Go out and market your products effectively and watch your MLM business grow.

Small Steps Leads to GIGANTIC Growth In Your MLM Business

In this industry, you will find moms, dads, full-time Nine-to-Fivers, students, part timers, and many other people who fall into these categories. Alot of the time, because of our work day, or busy schedule taking care of the family, we neglect our business. We stall, make excuses, or complain about how we can’t put forth effort in growing our business.

Well, as I sit back and think how I was able to make such an enormous leap in my business, I think about the little steps, or action, I was able to do on a day-to-day basis. I didn’t start off on top, I had to claw my way there…just like any other successful entrepreneur.

What I did was make myself take the right action step each and every day. I would work on prospecting scripts, closing scripts, or work on each component on my presentation call (which has 5 key components that will knock the socks off your prospects).

I would work on 1 component each day until I had it complete, which took maybe 30 minutes or so a day. Once I was done, I went back and edited it to make it sound smooth.

Or I would work on my prospecting script, changing words here and there, and testing it.

After doing this for a few weeks, I made such a gigantic leap into my business. I was adding a bunch of people into my business. It felt great to finally bust open the door to ‘success’. All of this was made possible, because of the small action steps I made.

Each day, you have the opportunity to grow our business. Some days, you may just neglect to do so. If you make small action steps a day, you will be able to grow your business faster than you ever thought possible. If you want to work on an article, pick a topic related to your business and write about it. Or if you want to write a press release, just start writing. After you’ve wrote it, edit it, and proof read it. And then you can submit it.

If you do this every week, your business will begin to grow. Don’t neglect making steps each day. Regardless, continue to move forward. Small steps are better than no steps. And make sure those steps you take are focused on the right action needed to grow your business. Using the wrong techniques can be worse than using none at all!

So, what should you do about it? Well, to be as simple as possible, the answer is to be persistent and NEVER give up. I’ll explain why this is important to your success in your MLM or network marketing business.

"Hey MLM Entrepreneur...Wake Up and Use Your HEAD!"

“I think, therefore I am”! I started with this quote from Rene Descartes, a philosopher I studied while in college, because it is absolutely true. Whatever you think or see yourself as, that’s exactly what you become.

The funny thing is, this hits home for many MLM entrepreneurs for different reasons. I’ve got a good feeling that you’ve been the “work horse” for your upline. You’ve probably made your lists of 100 of so people, did the 3-way calls, and the home parties. The question I want to ask you is, “Is it really working for you?”

What’s shocking about the method you’re being taught is that you really can’t fault your upline, the leaders, or the company. It all boils down to you. Why continue doing things that just flat out don’t work? I really can’t get my hands around the answer.

Whenever I hear of MLM entrepreneurs using those ‘good-for-nothing’ techniques, I think of the employee mindset. You know, the whole 9-5 mentality…Your boss tell you what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Now, don’t get me wrong, you need leaders, mentors, someone to train you and lead you to success. However, this doesn’t mean that you should settle for any ol’ training or leadership. You have to be willing to take control. This is YOUR business!

You also have to believe in yourself. And that you truly are the CEO of your MLM business. You are the marketer, salesman, secretary, janitor, president, vice-president. You’re everything in your business. No one can take any of these duties from you. Well…maybe someone else can be the secretary and janitor, but the rest of the positions lie squarely on your shoulders.

This probably wasn’t what you were wanting to hear. I’m being straight forward and wanting you to know the truth. It’s hard finding people who will really help you get started on the right track. I try to be that person, that’s more than willing to help.

As a MLM entrepreneur, you have to take action NOW! Don’t wait next month, or next week. Start today. I understand that this can be confusing, frustrating, even scary. But If you don’t stand on your own two feet and make something happen. How will you ever grow your business?

Do you know the difference between successful entrepreneurs and a ‘wanna-be’? The successful entrepreneur takes action, while the ‘wanna-be’ gripes, complains, and make excuses as to why they can’t do it, instead of finding how they CAN do it. Which one are you?

5 Ways To Succeed In Your MLM Business- Part 2

1. Mindset

You have to get out of the ‘employee mindset’ and get into an entrepreneur mindset. This is your business. You are the CEO. You have to be in control of what you do and the activities you do. Make sure you believe in yourself. You will have some failures. That’s a HUGE part of being an entrepreneur. But have courage and learn from your mistakes. I believe in you. So believe in yourself. Go out there and succeed!

2. Track Your Stats

Make sure you track your day-to-day stats and activities. This will let you know your strengths and weakness. It will also let you know which activity is profitable and which one is draining your profits. Make sure you track every dollar you spend.

3. Using The Written Word

What I mean by this is copywriting. Being able to persuade people through your words. This is extremely profitable. If you are able to use the written word properly, you can make websites such as data capture pages and sales letters. Once you learn how to do this, you’ll be able to write killer copy that grabs your prospects by the eyeballs and forces them to read.

4. Using The Internet

This is one tool that will grow your business at lightning speed. When you learn how to use words (copywriting), you can apply it to the internet. Investing in this tool can be very profitable, however be careful. You can also lose money at rapid speed.

5. Believing In Yourself

I know you’ve probably heard everyone say it, but you should definitely believe in yourself. I’ve talked to many people who don’t think they can hack it in their MLM business. I know there are times when you get confused and frustrated, but keep moving forward and believing in yourself. This one tip alone can help you reach your goals and success in any- and everything you do.

BONUS: Time Management

Be sure you know where your time is being spent. People always say how they don’t have time or there isn’t enough time. That’s a load of bull. You have to prioritize your time. Categorize the very important activities, to the important activities, to the least important activities.

Ex: Very Important Activities: Providing for your family(working/paying bills), eating, and other activities that has got to happen in order for you to survive or live.
Important Activities: Working your MLM Business, reading books and trainings, etc.
Least Important Activities: Watching TV, other activities that wastes time, etc.

These are only a couple examples. You have to realize what’s very important to what’s least important. It’s your life. You have to make the decision. Make wise choices, though. But at the end of the day, just have fun! That’s what being in business is all about.

5 Ways To Succeed In MLM- Part 1

1. Acquiring Skills

What I mean is that you should be learning how to prospect, do presentations (not those weak company business overview or ‘good for nothing’ product presentation calls), and how to properly assist potential customers through buying phase.

2. Buying Inexpensive Leads

Do not purchase any leads above 25 cents. 30 cents is stretching it. Anything above that is too much. Remember, the name of the game is to acquire new customers for the lowest cost.

3. Keep Moving Forward

NEVER stop forward motion. Don’t let procrastination or fear stand in the way. You are the CEO of your business. So get out there and succeed!

4. Support From Peers

Hang around people who support you on your efforts. When times get rough, their support will really uplift you and keep you going.

5. Effective Marketing System

Again, this goes back to learning skills. While you’re learning to use the phone as an effective marketing tool, you can put together your phone marketing system. This consists of prospecting, presentation, and closing. When you have this in place, you’re business will grow at such rapid speed!

9 Ways to Fail In Your MLM Business

1. Telling everyone about your wonderful opportunity and that you have the greatest product on the face of the earth.

Alot of times, you’ll meet people who will babble about their company, or how great their comp plan is. It gets really annoying. If you wanna fail, continue to annoy people with doing this.

2. Handing out samples, brochures, and dvds.

This will put you out of business faster than anything. Your company tells you to do this, or maybe your upline tell you. The cost per lead, or cost per prospect is tremendously expensive this way. When you handout samples, you end getting maybe one or two prospects. For those two prospects, you probably spend $40 or more trying to get them. That’s $20 a piece. Unless you’re rich and have plenty of money, then your MLM business won’t last long.

The object of the game is to get new customers for the lowest amount of money. That’s what being in business is all about. You have to profit. So DON’T spend yourself out of business!

3. Focusing on Selling a Dream (Your Opportunity) instead of Your Products

This is exactly why more network marketers fail. How can you tell me how to make a million dollars, if you’re not making it either. So many people focus on trying to grow their MLM business by getting more people interested in the opportunity. It doesn’t work. Even if you do get a couple people in based off of the opportunity, they drop just as soon as they see they’re not making money. Market and sell your products, NOT the opportunity!

4. Making A List of Friends and Family

This is a sure way to fail. This is regarded as your warm market. You will not, I mean NOT grow your business this way. I don’t care you said you will. You will annoy and chase off anyone who knows you if you do it this way.

5. 3-Way Upline Calls

This technique will kill any credibility that you have. If I had to talk to you, and the person above you just for information, I’d prefer to deal with them instead of you. You would be just the middle man. And I would get rid of the middle man. This is what people think when you try to put them on this call.

You have to be credible. People have to realize that this is your business. And that you’re here to help them.

6. Buying Expensive Leads.

This will put you out of business. Not to sound like a broken record, but buying leads for more than $.25, doesn’t make sense. Opportunity leads suck. Don’t buy them. You’ll just be wasting your hard earned cash.

7. Hosting Silly Parties and “Mixers”

This will be a complete waste of time and ineffective. If it actually worked, you’d be adding people into your MLM business on a daily basis. Save your time and money and come up with an effective way to market and sell your products.

8. 3-Foot Rule

I actually have had this done to me quite a few times. It’s annoying and I didn’t want anything they were offering. This technique doesn’t make sense and it doesn’t work. If you do this, be prepared to get some nasty things told to you.

9. Not Learning

This will definitely hold people back from making any money in their MLM business. Don’t let it be you! You should continue to learn and invest in yourself and your business. By this, I mean learning skills and gaining new knowledge. I read a ton of books a month and I continue to learn and master new skills that will help me in this business. I will give you a good example of acquiring new skills. Let’s say you spent $2400 on trainings. To some people that’s a lot, but for others the value is worth every penny. So you got the training for $2400, and you use it and master it. Now you’re able to use it to make at least $100,000 EXTRA. That’s an awesome return on investment. Just think how that kinda training would help you.

These are 9 ways that will cause you to fail in your MLM business. If you find yourself doing them, stop! If you’re upline tells you to keep doing it, tell them to go climb a tree. Well…you don’t have to say that, but just ignore it. Go out there and succeed in your business.
